Breakdown Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary:

The Breakdown Coordinator is responsible for providing support to drivers experiencing vehicle breakdowns or operational issues. This role involves managing a multi-company support system, utilizing internal software (DataDis) for work orders, and Isaac for tracking and reading truck codes. Coordinators will assist with a variety of operational tasks, including coordinating breakdowns, handling calls and emails, and supporting shop management. This position will support a 24-hour team and may require shift adjustments to cover staffing shortages or vacations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver & Breakdown Support: Respond to driver inquiries and breakdowns promptly and professionally, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken and documented.
    • Work Order Management: Open and manage work orders in DataDis, maintaining accurate records and attaching invoices to the respective work orders.
    • Communication & Case Tracking: Handle incoming calls and emails, providing quick updates and ensuring cases are tracked from start to finish.
    • Use of Isaac: Utilize Isaac for tracking and reading diagnostic codes on trucks, assisting in problem identification and resolution.
    • Collaboration with Shop Teams: Assist shop managers and personnel with various operational requests, including but not limited to towing, snow removal, and driver support.
    • Shift Support: Provide assistance during shift changes, covering shortages or vacations within the 24-hour breakdown support system.
    • Accuracy & Documentation: Ensure all work orders are completed with detailed and accurate notes, and that invoices and communications are properly attached to work orders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience in the trucking industry, with a mechanical background being highly favorable.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook) and work order systems such as DataDis.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to juggle phone calls, emails, and breakdown tasks simultaneously.
    • Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to respond quickly to complex situations and provide effective solutions.
    • Teamwork: Comfortable working with a remote team, supporting both staff and drivers across different operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with work order management systems (DataDis).
    • Familiarity with diagnostic tools like Isaac for truck diagnostics.

Working Conditions:
